Odion Ighalo (Watford)
Jude Odion Ighalo has fired warning to Tanzania ahead of Super Eagles AFCON 2017 qualifier clash against their counterpart.
Ighalo who was only on the pitch for 16 minute for his Premier League newcomers, Watford FC scored his first of the season for his team in the EPL as the Hornets held Everton to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.
The Nigerian international came on for Manuel Jurado in the 74th minute and it took him just11 minutes to restore Watford’s lead after Ross Barkley 25 yard stunner cancelled out Miguel Layún opener in the 14th minute.
Ighalo, who scored 20 goals for Watford last season, scored a brilliant goal, dribbling past two defenders before bending a delightful finish past the Everton keeper.
Chuba Akpom (Hull City)
Nigerian born and on-loan Arsenal player Chuba Akpom scored on his debut for Hull City who defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0 on Saturday, August 8.
Akpom played for 83 minutes before being replaced by Greg Luer.
GERMANY
Anthony Ujah (Werder Bremen)
In Germany, Anthony Ujah continued his fine form for his new club, Werder Bremen, as he netted in his side 2-0 win over Würzburger Kickers on Saturday, August 8.
The win was however not enough to see Bremen progress to the second round of the DFB Pokal (German Cup).
ITALY
Ogenyi Onazi (Lazio)
Nigerian midfielder Ogenyi Onazi was on from start to finish but could not help his Lazio team as they went down to Juventus in the Italian Super Cup in Shanghai.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles duo of Mikel Obi and Victor Moses watched from the bench for the entire game as 10-man Chelsea began their title defence with a 2-2 draw at home to Swansea.
