Meet a Nigerian man, Freeman Osonuga, who has been shortlisted as one of the lucky human beings to travel to space.
PM News reports that Osonuga was chosen through the Rising Star programme, which was launched at the One Young World Summit 2014 in Dublin. The programme invites One Young World Ambassadors and outstanding members of the public (aged 18-35) to take on the trip of a lifetime.
If selected for the programme, the person will not only embark on a once in a lifetime flight to space but will also be offered a three-year management contract.
Osonuga is a medicine and surgery graduate from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun state. He is also a 2015 WIRED Innovation Fellow who will be speaking live on stage at the conference in October, London.
In 2014, at the peak of the Ebola epidemic in Africa, he worked as a volunteer. Apart from that, he was part of the African Union team of Ebola responders in Sierra Leone.
