There
could be space for Gameeva among the Chelsea medical staff, after
Mourinho’s public dispute with first-team doctor Eva Carneiro and
first-team physio Jon Fearns.
Mourinho
was left seething after the duo rushed on to the pitch in the closing
stages of their 2-2 draw at home to Swansea on the opening day of the
season to treat Eden Hazard.
As
Carneiro returned to the Chelsea bench, she was involved in a
confrontation with Mourinho, who was livid they went on to treat Hazard
as it resulted in him having to leave the field of play, despite referee
Michael Oliver signalling for them to come on.
Chelsea were already down to 10 men due to Thibaut Courtois being sent off.
'I
wasn't happy with my medical staff,' Mourinho raged after the game. 'If
you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench you have to
understand the game,'

The
pair have not appeared on the Chelsea bench since, with Carneiro's role
revised. She is now not allowed to attend first-team matches or
training.
They
have since been replaced by Chris Hughes and Steven Hughes. Chris
Hughes has been promoted from the role of Academy doctor, while Steven
Hughes has been promoted from on-loan player physio.
