Following
Nigeria’s poor performance at the last Fifa Women World Cup in Canada,
top coaches have offered to coach the female football team.
This was disclosed by Amaju Pinnick, president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who denied claims that the team’s below-par performance at the mundial will turn away big personalities from offering to manage the team.
Daily Independent reports with reference to the NFF president’s interview on Brila fm, that the Falcons has enough arsenal to defeat Equatorial Guinea in Bata, assuring that Nigerians have nothing to fear.
He said: “We have the materials to win the match in Bata. There is nothing to fear. My experience with an experienced Italian coach can confirm this.
“She told me clearly that she would like to coach Nigeria because we have the material to win the world cup.
“She said Falcons has the material to win the Olympics and even the world cup. So I am very much sure that Nigeria will triumph over Equatorial Guinea on their soil.”The Falcons are in a tight corner following their drab 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in their Olympics qualifier encounter two weeks ago and will seek to go one better when they take on their counterpart in the second leg in Bata.
