Matthew
Macklin has unveiled a three-fight plan he hopes will lead to another
world-title shot, with the Birmingham-born Irish middleweight returning
to the ring next month in Marbella before potentially booking a Dublin
date later this year.
The
33-year-old recently launched his promotional interests from the other

MGM
Promotions staged a successful card in Dublin's National Stadium

MGM
is now set to promote Macklin's next bout in Puerto Banús on August 28
as the former two-time European champion continues his last-ditch
efforts to revive a world-title bid.
Macklin
had contemplated retirement following a loss to Argentinian Jorge
Sebastian Heiland at Dublin's 3 Arena last year, but opted to return to
the ring in May, blowing out Hungarian-based Sandor Micsko in two
rounds.
'I really want to build some momentum between now and the end of the year and get three solid wins under my belt,' he said.
'That
will give me a great base to push for a world-title shot early next
year. The fight in Marbella will kick that off and then I'm looking to
fight in Birmingham in October and then maybe back in Ireland before the
end of the year,' added Macklin, who is eyeing a date with domestic
rival and WBO world champion Andy Lee if the Limerick man gets past
Billy Joe Saunders in September.
