Acting INEC Boss Reconstitutes Commission’s Standing Committees

The acting Chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Amina Bala Zakari, has re-constituted membership of 14 Standing Committees of the commission.

According to a memo issued and signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, the committees are expected to commence operation from July 1, 2015.

Under the new arrangement, the committees on Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary matters (APDC) has Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali, member; Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga as members while members of the Planning, Monitoring and Strategy Committee (PMSC) are made up of Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, Chairman; Prof. M.A. Salau, member, Amb. M.A. Wali.

Information and Voter Education/Outreach and Partnership Committee has Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, as Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali and Lawrence Nwuruku as  members, whereas members of the Health and Welfare Committee, include Dr. S. Abdulkadir Oniyangi as Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali and Prof. M.A. Salau as members.

Operations and Logistics Committee is composed of Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga as Chairman; Lawrence Nwuruku while  M.A. Wali as members.

Similarly, the Estate, Works and Transport Committee has M.A. Wali as Chairman; and Lawrence Nwuruku,  Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga as members. Election and Party Monitoring Committee has M.A. Wali as Chairman while Hon. Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga,  Prof. M.A. Salau, as members. Board of Survey and Technical Equipment Acquisition Committee has Lawrence Nwuruku as Chairman; Prof. M.A. Salau and M.A. Wali  as members.

Members of the Tenders Board Committee are M.A. Wali, Chairman; Lawrence Nwuruku, and Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga as members while the Legal Services Clearance Committee has Hon. Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi  and Chairman; M.A. Wali and Lawrence Nwuruku  as members. Board of Electoral Institute Committee has Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku as Chairman;  Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi,   Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga as members.

The committee on Information Technology and Voter Registry has Amina Bala Zakari as  Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali,  Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi, Prof. M.A. Salau, as members.

Members of the  Finance and General Purpose Committee are made up of Hon. Amina Bala Zakari, as  Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali,  Ambassador Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, , Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi, Prof. M.A. Salau, as members, while the Security Committee has Amina Bala Zakari as Chairman; Ambassador M.A. Wali; Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, , Dr. Chris O. Iyimoga, Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi; Prof. M.A. Salau, as  members.
