It’s barely 6 months into the year and Olamide’s led record label, YBNL have had more hits than most recording companies in the country. How the label operates need some studying and how they create hits is even more difficult to understand.
YBNL is lead by hit maker Olamide and has several other acts signed which includes Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Viktoh, Adekunle Gold among others.
We take a look at the top 5 releases of the recording company in the past 6 months.
1. Gbese by Lil Kesh
Lil Kesh’s single Gbese gathered pace slowly and has grown into one of the most played songs on Nigerian radio stations.
Nigerian OAP who just came from a vacation abroad admitted on radio earlier today that when she played the song far away, foreigners around her danced to it.
Early contender for Street Hop Song of The Year…. The song was released in February 2015 and is produced by Young John.
2. Shoro Niyen by YBNL
Shoro Niyen arrived early February and featured 4 YBNL artistes and in house producer Pheelz. The song featured a verse each from head honchoOlamide, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun and Viktoh.
The fans of the label quickly grabbed the witty line “Shoro Niyen” and has since became a street lingo.
3. Olamide – Confam Ni ft. Wizkid
YBNL chief Olamide came through midnight March 9th with Confam Ni featuring Starboy leader, Wizkid.
The song which is produced by Young John is also one of the most played Nigerian songs on radio this year and is one of the many hits YBNL producerYoung John has made. A street / club banger for sure!!!
4. Olamide – Bobo
The hottest song in the country at this very moment also came under the tent of YBNL… Which shows they are the one who’s got the heat at this very moment.
Olamide rolled out Young John produced Bobo last month without any promo and the dance step is slowly taking Shoki out of the market.
5. Olamide – Ladi ft. Lil Kesh, Phyno
2 YBNL artistes on a track, you know it will be a hit. Another early contender for street hop of the year is Ladi which features Olamide, Phyno and Lil Kesh.
The song is the best thing that happened to Olamide and Phyno’s joint album, 2 Kings.
If you’ve been hanging out a lot since April 1st, you will agree that this song is a hit.
