The members and supporters of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) are in jubilation mood following the victory of the
party’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari at the March 28
presidential elections.
The people of Osun state came out en-masse to celebrate the emergence of Buhari as Nigeria’s next president.
The Governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, his Wife, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola and other members and supporters of the APC celebrated Buhari’s victory at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
In a press statement released yesterday, Aregbesola described Buhari’s victory as the best thing to happen to Nigeria, a country that has endured 16 years of maladministration at the center.
Nigerians have also been commending President Goodluck Jonathan for his show of sportsmanship and his willingness to concede defeat. Nigerians are glad he kept to his promise of conducting a free and fair election.
Yesterday, Buhari’s supporters took to the streets and houses of key party members to celebrate his victory.
Now that Buhari has been elected as President, Nigerians are expecting a lot from him to bring about the so much publicized change of the APC. They are expecting him to keep to campaign promises of eliminating corruption, resurrecting Nigeria’s economy and a host of other things.
