Former Bauchi Govt Director Killed In Car Accident


A retired assistant director, Tukur Mohammed, was on Saturday morning killed on the Azare-Bulkachuwa road when he was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle.

Tukur who worked with the Bauchi State Ministry of Animal Resources died on the spot after he was hit, Leadership reports.
A statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in charge of the Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, described how the former director was killed.
The state says the late Mohammed, 61, parked his Chevrolet car by the roadside and was trying to open the boot of his car when he was hit by a man in a Honda car.

According to the statement, the deceased was knocked down by one Maigari Mohammed, 52, and a staff member of the Ministry of Interior, Abuja.
As a result, victim died on the spot while the Honda driver sustained injury,” the police spokesman stated.
DSP Mohammed further stated that a police patrol team attached to Azare division visited the scene of the accident and rushed casualties to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Azare for medical attention and postmortem examination.
Tukur is just one of two civil servants to die this week. On Monday, Abdul-Aziz Aliyu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, and his younger brother, Salmanu Aliyu, were killed in an auto accident along Jere Town of Kaduna State.
