Gen Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant has condemned in strong terms the massacre at Agatu local government area of Benue state where dozens, mainly women and children, were killed in cold blood by suspected herdsmen.
According to Punch, Buhai in a statement in Abuja on Monday, March 16, condemned the frequent resort to violence in dealing with perceived grievances by people in the country.
Speaking through Mallam Garba Sheh, Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO), Buhari noted that the resort to violence in whatever form was not acceptable and justifiable.
APCPCO called on all politicians, regardless of party division to unite and speak with one voice over such embarrassing incidents.
The organisation advised Nigerians to stop killing one another and face the basic problems bedeviling them. It highlighted such problems to include insecurity, unemployment, hunger, disease and poor governance caused by corruption and other manifestations of bad leadership.
While condoling with the families of the of the latest victims of violence in Benue State, It added that confidence building remained the only approach that could bring people together for dialogue at the negotiation table.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara state chapter, has revealed those allegedly behind yesterday’s attack on the convoy of Aisha Buhari, the wife of Gen Mohammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC. The pary has implicated one Alh Yinka Aluko as the mastermind behind the attack.
